Technical details

Prepreg, a pre-impregnated carbon fabric, is characterised by uniform resin distribution combined with a high fibre volume content. This results in maximum strength and increased flexibility of the components. Processing in the autoclave, a high-pressure oven operating under controlled temperature and pressure conditions, ensures perfect, even curing and a flawless surface finish. This method prevents air inclusions in the material and guarantees consistently high component quality. The carbon components are laminated by hand with great experience and care, ensuring consistent fibre alignment without distortion. After curing in the autoclave, the edges are precisely trimmed by robot to ensure a perfect fit and the highest quality.

Unique plastic powder coating

A globally unique step in Ilmberger’s production process is the complete plastic powder coating of all carbon components. This coating not only protects the parts against environmental influences but also gives them an unrivalled depth effect. No other carbon manufacturer offers this type of sealing, which prevents ageing and significantly extends the service life of the components. The final clear coat on this component is high-gloss and provides a perfectly smooth surface, further underlining the luxurious, sporty appearance of the carbon parts. Every component leaving the production facility is a masterpiece of engineering and design, meeting the highest standards.
